This marks the beginning of a broad array of research projects which will culminate in reports and recommendations for legislation and regulations. The order includes statements of policy objectives that are to be met on six core topics: consumer and investor protection; financial stability; illicit finance; U.S. leadership in the global financial system and economic competitiveness; financial inclusion; and responsible innovation.

I do not think that cryptocurrency is significantly more difficult to regulate than cash. They have different problems to solve; cash has physical transport issues, cryptocurrency has a public ledger of all transactions. I don’t see crypto resisting for very long – it will be as regulated as cash is.
