AI in 1973

It’s fun to jump in they wayback machine and see what artificial intelligence was like in 1973. This debate was at the center of the UK shutting down their government funded AI research for a very long time.

Much like the big chill Minsky and Papert put on neural network research with Perceptrons (notwithstanding its academic excellence), the Lighthill Report had a massive impact on progress in artificial intelligence.

Thanks to my friend, Felix Hovsepian, for the video link!
